1. Does eating late at night, before you go to bed, make you gain weight?
2. If a person stops drinking all soda altogether, and sticks to water and juice, can that person lose weight?
3. Do proteins help lose weight or just help build muscle?
4. Can a person lose weight without really excercising much at all?
5. Can you tell I want to lose weight? haha.
I've heard all this stuff plus more and I just can't figure out how I'v gained 35lbs in the past 12 months. I haven't changed anything!
Maybe my body is just changing, who knows.
1. What time you eat doesn't really matter. It's just the amount of calories. Some people claim that your metabolism shuts down late at night, but although it slows while you are sleeping, you are still burning calories and will continue to burn those calories in the morning. However, people tend to eat a lot of junk food at night, so if you skipped those calories, obviously you would lose weight.
2. Cutting out sugary soda and replacing it with calorie-free water will cut down on calories and reduced calories lead to weight loss. Water is the best drink for you and has no calories! Juice still has sugar and calories, so stick to water and other sugar-free drinks as much as possible.
3. Protein doesn't help you lose weight or build muscle. Lifting weight helps you build muscle, and yes, you should eat a bit more protein when you are lifting weights to help with Muscle Growth, but eating protein by itself will not build muscle.
4. Yes, you can lose weight without exercise with changes in diet, however, you can lose more weight combining diet and exercise.
