i'm overweight but want to build muscle?

should i get on a treadmill and burn fat then lift weights when i get smaller to have more muscles. will a treadmill do the trick or should i try a different machine at the gym.

you should be doing BOTH. adding Lean Muscle mass will help you burn extra calories throughout the day and reduce body fat. Just pick up a balance diet and do cardio and weight training. You will not bulk up, trust me. In fact, you will be shedding fat at a faster rate than you will put on the Muscle Mass.
