What is the "bulge" effect? (in regards to Muscle Building and working out)?

I've heard that some supplements may cause a "bulge" effect on the body, make the body look certain way, and that some folks try avoiding it.
What is the "bulge" effect? Is it a bad thing? Is it more an aesthetic issue?
Also, I use Cytosport muscle milk, does this supplement cause the "bulge" effect?

I've never heard of the "bulge" effect. I thought maybe you were referring to the pump that you get immediately after working a muscle. For example when you do a lot of push-ups and then your chest feels full, that's called the pump. Arnold described it like this. "Let's say you train your biceps. Blood is rushing into your muscles and that's what we call The Pump. Your muscles get a really tight feeling, like your skin is going to explode any minute, and it's really tight - it's like somebody blowing air into it, into your muscle. It just blows up, and it feels really different. It feels fantastic."
