is whey protein good for building muscles? when do i start seeing the results?

i work out 5 days a week one hour a day, and i need to get bigger muscles. what should i do beside working out?

Whey protein isolate (WPI) is an excellent pre and post workout supplemental protein. In order to Gain Muscle, however, you'll need to increase cals in all macronutrients, not just protein. So, a good starting point for mass gain is 50% low GI carbs, 30% lean proteins and 20% good fats over 5-6+ meals per day. Most of your calories, including protein, should come from healthy whole food sources.

As for the whey, take it 20-30 minutes prior to your workout and immediately after with a 1:2 ratio serving of carbs (simple or complex, doesn't matter).
